  • 0

In this article we will show you a step by step guide to installing an SLL certificate from Let’s Encrypt on cPanel.

  • Step 1 – Login to your cPanel dashboard
  • Step 2 – Scroll down to the “Security” section of cPanel
  • Step 3 – Click on the Let’s Encrypt icon
  • Step 4 – Scroll down to where it says “Issue a new certificate”
  • Step 5 – Find the domain name you wish to issue a new SSL certificate for and click the “Issue” button on the right.
  • Step 6 – You see a number of options, however the ones required will already be selected so you do not need to do anything further here. Scroll down and click “Issue” on the bottom left.

After a few moments (it can take up a few minutes) you will see a success message. Your new SSL certificate is now live on your domain name and you ca start to use https to secure your website.

Please note that in order for an SSL certificate from Let’s Encrypt to be successfully installed your domain name must be pointed to your cPanel server using the correct nameservers and fully propagated.

It is not enough to simply add your domain name to your cPanel account. If your nameservers are not pointing your domain name to your server or if these have not fully propagated then you will see an error message when trying to issue the SSL certificate.
