Use HTTPS on WordPress Websites

There may be occasions when you create your website and then add an SSL Certificate at a later date, so now you need to know how to use HTTPS on WordPress websites to make them secure.

The easiest way is to use the Really Simple SSL plugin, which is free and can be installed in 4 easy steps.

Step 1 – Log into WordPress and go to Plugins

  1. Log into your WordPress dashboard and click Plugins in the menu to the left.
  2. Click Add New at the top of your screen.

Step 2 – Install the Really Simple SSL plugin

  1. Type in Really Simple SSL in the search field.
  2. Click Install now to install the plugin.

Step 3 – Activate the plugin

Click Go ahead, activate SSL! to activate the plugin and start serving your WordPress site via https.

Step 4 – Done!

You should now be all done. Open your website in your browser and check if you see the secured padlock symbol next to your URL.
